At the end of July, Hollie from our Social Media team was given the opportunity to sail around the British Isles onboard Star Legend with Windstar Cruises, where she stayed 5 nights on the luxury liner.
Hollie was eager to update us on her trip, and what she got up to 👇
Two weeks ago, I got to spend 6 days on the Star Legend with Windstar Cruises and what a lovely experience it was. I sailed from Edinburgh up to the Scottish Highlands, down to Oban, Belfast and then finished off my trip with Dublin.
Oban was a beautiful part of the trip – a true ‘fisherman’s’ town its no wonder it called the ‘seafood capital of Scotland’. The bagpipes were playing in the background and ofcourse a hike up to the McCaig’s Tower was a must. We tried out the recommended fish & chips in one of the local chip shop’s and it lived up to expectation.
Belfast was as quirky as ever – the back lanes and street corners littered with street art and trendy graffiti. The Titanic Museum was such an interesting experience, and I would definitely recommend anyone to go and have more of an insight.
And last but not least, the home of Guinness… Dublin! Always a vibe, and as always, a visit to Temple Bar was needed to enjoy a pint of Gat. Full of tourists enjoying a weekend visit, there are more than enough bars to visit and its always a warm welcome.
Star Legend itself was my favourite part of the trip. From my newly furbished suite with a sea view to the spa, jacuzzi and pool, to the 4 restaurants and Yacht Club, I was in total awe at how beautiful the ship was – not forgetting the staff who made me feel right at home. Windstar Cruises, you were amazing! 🌊✨
