Debbie from our Newton Abbot branch recently returned from a sensational educational trip to Australia! We caught up with her to find out all about her trip to the Land Down Under…

“We had the pleasure of touring Australia in order to meet with a whole host of suppliers and get a taste of what they can offer their visitors! It is such a vast country and by meeting with representatives from all over, it was clear that there was something for everyone in this amazing country. There was a huge focus on eco ecology, biodiversity and just a general sense of wanting to see nature at its very best! 🇦🇺

The trip from Cairns to Daintree was fabulous! Our guide was second to none and the tour was one of the best I’ve ever been on. It was very educational as we learned all about the rainforest and its natural habitat. We also saw a huge amount of wildlife including the Southern Cassowary which are very rare, even our guide was as excited as us to see one! We were also lucky enough to experience a catamaran trip to the Barrier Reef with the option to snorkel and dive down to the vibrant coral reefs. 🪸

We then spent 4 days travelling from the north to the south of the island heading for Tasmania. The journey was amazing and provided us with so many picturesque views! Cradle Mountain was a personal highlight and to have it snowing at the time we visited just topped off the whole experience, it was truly a postcard worthy scene. We then visited the Devils Cradle which is a conservation program for the Tasmanian Devil and houses an on-site breeding program. Their aim is to stop the extinction of these wonderful creatures and other endangered animals. The whole tour was eye-opening and gave us so much insight information. Witnessing wombats, kangaroos and other wildlife in their natural habitat was something i’ll never forget!” 🦘
